Throughout the Best of Australia tour, you will be accompanied by an experienced tour guide to ensure that you get the most out of each destination. Periods of rest and relaxation are an essential part of the tour, but if you want to keep active; tour guides can provide information on any particular area for you to independently explore. All featured accommodation and tours on your trip have been personally checked by Oztalk, so you can rest assured that your holiday has been carefully planned and quality maintained.

Days 1 and 2: Fly UK to Singapore

Depart from your chosen airport aboard an overnight BA/Qantas flight for Singapore.

On arrival in Singapore we transfer you to your beautiful 5* hotel. Situated right on the waterfront overlooking the harbour and some of the city's historical sites; the hotel is within easy reach of the major shopping areas such as Orchard Road and Raffles Place.

Day 3: Tour of Singapore

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel followed by a city tour that takes you to the colonial heart of the city visiting Padang and Parliament House then onto Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of the oldest Temples in Singapore. We stop at Mount Faber to take in the view and call in at a local handicraft centre to really absorb the culture. Next up is a trip to the must-see National Orchid Garden located within the beautiful Botanic Gardens.

Day 4: Cairns

On your early morning arrival in Cairns, you will be greeted by tropical heat. An air-conditioned coach will whisk us off to our luxury accommodation at the Lakes Resort. Spend the day relaxing by the pool or for the more energetic, a 4-minute bus ride will take you to the centre of Cairns. A short stroll from the front entrance takes you into the adjacent Botanical Gardens.

Join us this evening for a complimentary 'Welcome to Australia' buffet. An opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers, our hosts and tour director in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Always a very popular occasion.

Day 5: Great Barrier Reef

Next day starts with an exciting full day cruise to The Great Barrier Reef aboard "The Reef Rocket" - a brand new state-of-the-art high speed catamaran - taking just 45 minutes to reach Green Island. Includes a tour by glass bottomed boat or snorkelling equipment hire, a semi-submersible "submarine" tour and plenty of time to explore the island.

Day 6: Port Douglas

Enjoy your buffet breakfast at leisure as we will not be departing the resort until late morning for a day in and around Port Douglas. This starts with a truly spectacular 44-mile scenic coastal drive north.

First stop is Hartley's Crocodile Adventures - an unforgettable experience that allows you to view and interact with wildlife in a natural environment safely. Timber boardwalks provide elevated viewing of wildlife as visitors journey through a range of natural habitats.

Onto Port Douglas with it's distinctive laid back atmosphere and low-rise tropical old world charm that has a surprising number of world-class restaurants and boutiques (many a famous person passes this way).

Day 7: Flames of the Forest

Breakfast and day at leisure. This evening we provide you with an experience to remember for a lifetime. Take the flame lit trail beneath the canopy of the world's oldest rainforest. All around the sounds of the sleeping rainforest weaves a special magic as you are enveloped by its ancient wonders. The candlelight flickers whilst aboriginal entertainers weave their own mysticism in the middle of the rainforest and you enjoy the award-winning gourmet "Flames of the Forest" banquet. Includes Champagne reception, canapes, quality Australian wines /beer. Return by coach to Cairns.

Day 8: Skyrail Gondola over rainforest

Hop aboard a Skyrail Gondola & glide over the Rainforest canopy. Take a tree top walk through the rainforest. Arrive Kuranda village for shopping & flea markets. Choose to explore the markets, visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary or colourful Birdworld. Return to Cairns by steam train through the rainforest and past the spectacular Barron Falls.

Day 9: Ayers Rock

Transfer from The Lakes to Cairns International Airport departing for Ayers Rock with Qantas Airlines. This afternoon we visit Ayers Rock and learn something of the Aboriginal People and this unique area.

This evening you will dine under a canopy of a million stars at the award winning "Sounds of Silence" dinner. Enjoy a cool drink as the sound of a lone didgeridoo fills the air and spectacular colours radiate from Uluru in the setting sun. Dine on a gourmet barbeque of Australian delicacies accompanied by fine Australian wines. Then sit back and take in the mystery of the desert as an astronomer takes you on a tour of the southern skies.

Day 10: The Red Centre

After breakfast we visit The Olgas before travelling by luxury air-conditioned coach through the barren 'Red Centre' to Alice Springs. En route we visit a working camel farm with an opportunity to ride a camel. We spend the next two nights at Lasseters Hotel and Casino - the finest hotel in Alice.

Day 11: Alice Springs

This morning we visit the outback for a fascinating Aboriginal Dreamtime and Bushtucker Tour. Learn about the Dreamtime, bush survival and hunting before gathering around the campfire for some bushtucker ... the witchety grubs and kangaroo tail are definitely optional!

An afternoon visit to The Royal Flying Doctors HQ and The School of the Air brings to life the reality and isolation of life in this part of Australia.

Overnight at a 4.5 star hotel in Alice Springs.

Day 12: Fly Alice Springs to Sydney

Depart Alice Springs with Qantas Airlines for Sydney, New South Wales. Transfer from Sydney Airport to our 5 star fully serviced apartment for 4 nights.

Spend the rest of today at leisure.

Day 13-15: Sydney Tour

Three days to explore the sights and attractions of Sydney. We provide each client with a 3 day "Sydney Smartvisit Card" giving you total flexibility to choose where and when you visit, includes:

Day 16: The Blue Mountains

After breakfast we leave Sydney for The Blue Mountains. The spectacular drive takes us through beautiful countryside and pine forests before arriving at the town of Katoomba and the famous Three Sisters. From Echo Point the view is of a million eucalyptus trees and the rising blue mist that gives the area its name. The more energetic have the option of taking the '1,000 Step' walk.

Day 17: The Hunter Valley

Depart The Blue Mountains for one of Australia's most prestigious wine growing areas - The Hunter Valley - staying for 1 night at The Hunter Valley Country Lodge. Blissfully quiet, you will wake up to beautiful birdsong and grazing kangaroos. Your log cabin style accommodation is set amongst emerging vineyards and 100 acres of lush, native bush land in Australia's premier wine region, the Hunter Valley.

This afternoon we visit some of The Hunter Valley’s finest wineries with private tasting at famous name and boutique vineyards.

Tonight enjoy a fabulous three-course meal at the award winning Shakey Tables Restaurant (2002 Restaurant of the year - regional NSW).

Day 18: Port Stephens

A short coach journey this morning to Port Stephens and two nights at a stunning new resort and spa. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach or in the resorts fabulous spa facilities.

Day 19: Dolphin and Wale Watching

After a leisurely breakfast we join a Moonshadow catamaran for dolphin & whale watching cruise. Port Stephens is one of the best locations throughout Australia for viewing wild dolphins and (in season) migrating hump back whales.

A free afternoon to soak up some sunshine before our "Farewell Meal" on our last evening together in Australia.

Day 20: Fly Sydney to Bangkok

After breakfast we head back to Sydney for the afternoon flight to Bangkok. Transfer to a 5* luxury hotel for overnight accommodation by the banks of the Chao Phaya River. A Blend of Thai and French design with an excellent location on the prestigious Silom Road in the heart of Bangkok's financial, tourist and entertainment district. The hotel is well located with access to the Sky train and many restaurants, bars and entertainment.

Day 21: Fly Bangkok to UK

A leisurely morning to enjoy the fantastic facilities at your hotel, followed by our tour of Bangkok which includes a private boat journey along the river and canals and a tour of The Grand Palace. The tour includes the services of an English speaking Thai guide.

Depart Bangkok late evening for the UK.
