Day One:
Arrive in Auckland ‘Haere Mai’ – Welcome to New Zealand! Be met and transferred to your hotel. The morning is at leisure to explore this city or just relax. This afternoon, meet your Tour Director and group for a city sightseeing tour. Tour commences at 1pm. Visit Skytower for a spectacular 360 degree vista view before a special welcome dinner at the Skytower complex. Overnight at the Langham Hotel Auckland or the Stamford Plaza.

Day Two:
Enjoy a relaxing cruise through limestone caves to see glow worms in Waitomo Caves. Continue to Rotorua, heartland of geysers and hot thermal pools. See the towering Redwood Forest. Tonight experience a traditional Maori dinner (Hangi), ancient songs and tribal dances. Next 2 nights at Novotel Royal Lakeside Hotel, Rotorua.

Day Three:
Visit the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve and Maori Arts Crafts Institute where Maori craftspeople hone their skills. Enjoy a guided walk to see boiling mud pools, steaming geysers and thermal salts.
Free Choice – Agrodome Show or Geothermal Spa or Guided Trout Fishing or Buried Village Tour or Rotorua Museum. Choose one option for this afternoon’s activities (activity is included in the tour fare and is at no extra cost). You also have the opportunity to replace today’s touring with a visit to the magnificent White Island, New Zealand’s only permanent active volcano (surcharge applies for this tour).

Day Four:
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Christchurch (approximately 0930 flight). This English style city is filled with old world charm. Visit the historic Mona Vale Homestead and enjoy Devonshire tea. This afternoon ride a nostalgic tramcar. Tonight dine at the Christchurch Casino and overnight at the Millennium Christchurch.

Day Five:
Board the Tranz Alpine for an unforgettable train journey across the Southern Alps to Arthur’s Pass, once bustling during the gold rush. Travel to Hokitika and the Greenstone (jade) Factory where stone carvers master their craft. Continue to Westland National Park and see Franz Josef Glacier. Overnight at Franz Josef Glacier Hotel.

Day Six:
See remote areas of untouched beauty and serenity, with beautiful cascading waterfalls and magnificent mountain scenery. Arrive at Queenstown, New Zealand’s vibrant adventure playground. Following 3 nights at the Mercure Grand St Moritz Hotel, Queenstown.
Free Choice Dining – A cruise aboard the nostalgic TSS Earnslaw to Water Peak Station for dinner or Ride a gondola to the Skyline Restaurant & dine or Dine within your hotel at Lombardi’s Restaurant or Enjoy a delicious home cooked dinner at a locally hosted New Zealand home. Choose one option for dinner (dinner is included in the tour fare and is at no extra cost).

Day Seven:
Enjoy a full day at your leisure. Your Tour Director will be pleased to arrange any optional tours for you (at own expense). Perhaps take in a sightseeing flight over the Remarkable Mountain range, a thrilling jet boat ride on the Shotover Jet or a tour in to Skipper’s Canyon with scenery from the Lord of the Rings movies. Tonight, choose a local restaurant and enjoy the southern hospitality (own expense).

Day Eight:
Travel via Te Anau to Milford Sound. See Mitre Peak and Fiordland’s magnificent glacier carved fjords. See Bowen Falls and watch for dolphins and seals. Return to Queenstown early evening. You have the opportunity to replace today’s touring with a visit to Doubtful Sound (surcharge applies).

Day Nine:
Travel to impressive Mount Cook and overnight at Mackenzie Country Inn, Twizel.

 

 

Day Ten:
Visit the Church of the Good Shepherd and Lake Tekapo before crossing the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch. Board your flight to Sydney (approximately 1530 hr flight) and say Haere ra - Farewell to New Zealand and G’Day Mate - Welcome to Australia. Transfer to the Sofitel Wentworth, Sydney for the next three nights.

Day Eleven:
Enjoy a city tour including the historic Rocks area, the Opera House, Botanical Gardens, cosmopolitan Kings Cross and the famous Bondi Beach. Explore all the sights of Sydney Harbour, cruising the exclusive Eastern Suburbs waterfront homes and under the Harbour Bridge to Darling Harbour.
Free Choice Dining: Wolfies Restaurant or Waterfront Restaurant. Both restaurants are directly opposite the Sydney Opera House, with breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour. Choose one option for dinner (dinner is included in the tour fare and is at no extra cost).

Day Twelve:
Free Choice – Blue Mountains, Three Sisters and Cuddle a Koala full day trip or Half day Wildlife Park or Looking for adventure? Then climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Choose one option for your day’s activity (activity is included in the tour fare and is at no extra cost).

Day Thirteen:
Today fly to Melbourne (approximately 0800 hr flight). Check into your hotel then join the Melbourne city sight seeing tour including a cruise on the Yarra River. Following 2 nights are at the Sofitel Hotel Melbourne.

Day Fourteen:
Free Choice – Phillip Island Penguins or Full Day Great Ocean Road or Puffing Billy Rail and Blue Dandenongs or Colonial Tram Car Dining Experience. Choose one option for your day’s activity (activity is included in the tour fare and is at no extra cost).

Day Fifteen:
Board your aircraft to the Red Centre (approximately 0830 hr flight). This afternoon visit Ayers Rock (Uluru), to watch the colourful sunset (weather permitting). Continue to the Desert Gardens Hotel for your next 2 night’s accommodation.

Day Sixteen:
Free Choice – Aboriginal Uluru Tour or Harley Davidson Ride or Uluru naturalist Tour or Ayers Rock Camel Ride. Choose one option for your day’s activity (activity is included in the tour fare and is at no extra cost). Tonight enjoy dining at the Sounds of Silence dinner under the stars.

Day Seventeen:
This morning travel to the ancient domes of the Olgas (Kata Tjuta) before flying to Cairns (approximately 1330 hr flight). Transfer to the Cairns Hilton where you will spend 3 nights in idyllic central surroundings.

Day Eighteen:
Free Choice – Quicksilver Catamaran & snorkel Outer Barrier Reef with lunch or Luxury sailing to Low Isles with lunch. Choose one option for your day’s activity (activity is included in the tour fare and is at no extra cost). Opportunity to take a 10 minute scenic helicopter flight over the reef systems or take a helicopter ride back to mainland Port Douglas – surcharge applies).

Day Nineteen:
After breakfast, journey by rail to Kuranda, followed by touring the rainforest on an amphibious army duck. See the Pamagirri Aborigines’ boomerang-throwing and didgeridoo-playing followed by a Skyrail gondola ride above the rainforest canopy and return to Cairns. Tonight enjoy a farewell poolside barbeque dinner with your touring companions.

Day Twenty:
This morning bid farewell to your new friends and head to Cairns Airport for your flight back to the UK.
